Perhaps the most egregious issue in Tower of Fantasy is its insistence on time-gating a lot of its content. This is not the type of game that players can barrel through in a matter of a week. From time-gated story missions to time-gated chests to time-gated level caps, the game is constantly putting hurdles in the player’s path to stop them from progressing. Finding a chest out in the wild only to be told to come back in 2 days is one of the most deflating parts of Tower of Fantasy and takes all the fun out of exploring the game’s rather lovely-looking post-apocalyptic world. As of this writing, the main storyline still cannot be completed, and it will be a matter of weeks to months until it can be finished. What’s more, Tower of Fantasy ’s mount system , Anime Games Online Guide one of the game’s key differentiators from Genshin Impact , never feels fun to use and constantly gets stuck on the smallest bits of geometry.
