Dealing with families and work colleagues who brought the casualty through the emergency department, clearly distressed and wishing they could have done more during this highly emotive time, it became evident that public people simply didn’t know how to manage an emergency situation.
“It was then that I decided to take my skills and knowledge into the workplace and provide staff with a quality, up-to-date professional first aid training, identifying the workplace risks, hazards and acute injuries and illness and how to implement appropriate responses. I keep my skills and knowledge current by continuing nursing in all major hospitals and walking nursing students through their university placement as a clinical facilitator. I specialise in First Aid Training, CPR Training, Manual Handling and Mental Health First Aid.”
