Noida 29th August 2023: The spirit of athleticism and the significance of sports in holistic development were celebrated with great zeal at Marwah Studios as part of the National Sports Day festivities on 29th August. Dr. Sandeep Marwah, the President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University, graced the occasion with his inspirational words.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah emphasized the profound impact of sports on an individual’s character, stating, “Sports make you a perfect human being, keep you active, and give you the extra stamina to go the extra mile.” His words resonated with the audience, highlighting the pivotal role sports play in shaping well-rounded individuals.
AAFT University has a proud history of promoting sports through initiatives like the Asian Sports Star League and Athleema, which has become one of India’s premier sports events in higher education. These endeavours have not only encouraged sportsmanship but have also provided a platform for aspiring athletes to showcase their talents.
During the celebration, Dr. Marwah proudly recounted a remarkable achievement, stating, “We are elated to have achieved a World Record in Sports by successfully covering the XIX Queen’s Baton Relay from Wagah Border to Nehru Stadium. This remarkable journey spanned 28 states, 5 union territories, covered 20,000 kilometres, featured 300 events, captured 10,000 pictures, involved 1,000 hours of film making, 102 radio programs, and 102 short films for world broadcast, all accomplished in just 102 days. This feat stands as a testament to our commitment to excellence.”
The advantages of sports are multifaceted, ranging from physical fitness and mental well-being to fostering teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills. Sports serve as a unifying force, transcending boundaries and bringing communities together.
